Sacred Liturgy. This is the first document produced by the Second Vatican Council.
It speaks to the overall purpose of Vatican II and the importance of the
liturgy in achieving the council’s aims. It is the foundation for the revised
rites for the celebration of the Eucharist today. It was promulgated by Paul VI
(December 4, 1963).
