‘Are you still without perception?
What are the advantages of faith and hope in and love of the Lord? Without them people can still seem to be happy. However, when trouble comes, it certainly helps to be able to turn to God.
The atheist has been described as a person with no invisible means of support. God wants to be our special support in times of trial. On the other hand there are some who do turn to God, but not for help but rather to complain—‘We have no bread.’ They are like ‘dry scrub in the wastelands’.
Dear Lord, give us faith, hope and love to discern and surrender to your saving work in the ups and downs of life.
