Israel so often fell short.

God created a beautiful vineyard and a rich, heavily yielding crop. God gave them everything they needed and they chose not to acknowledge that. Israel turned their backs on God. They did not give back to God and they did not live the fruits of God’s love in their lives. As a result, everything in the vineyard, and for Israel, fell apart.

There is an important message in this gospel. The riches of God’s harvest and abundant love are there for each of us. Living God’s way brings a richness to our lives which nothing else can because God only wants what is best for us in all circumstances. If we are faithful to God, and the fruit of God’s love shines in our lives, God is seen and known by others.
