Those who were scattered went from place to place proclaiming the word.
Lord, sometimes we can’t help wishing that we could go from place to place telling people about you and have them listen eagerly, while paralysed and lame people get up and walk because we tell them to—in your name of course.
What rejoicing there would be! And then we would become full of ourselves which would mean riding for a fall. It is the humdrum day-to-day following you that gets us there in the end, isn’t it? The prayer, the reliance on the Spirit for help to follow in your footsteps and to put others first.
As you said yourself, not everyone who says to you ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven but only those who do the will of your Father in heaven.
