Those who offer praise as a sacrifice glorify me.

Throughout Scripture, God is very insistent about praise. When we praise, both individually and in the faith community, we acknowledge God’s supremacy in our lives. We can praise God for creation, for his character and nature, faithfulness and love and so much more.

Just as King David said—‘His praise shall continually be in my mouth’ (Ps 34:1)—let our mouths be full of praise. The very ‘sacrifice’ of praise—working at it when we don’t feel like it—draws us into abundant life in the presence of the Lord. People of praise are people of faith.

Let us fill our mouths with the great things God has done. And let us praise others as well—for their attributes, their virtues, their strengths and their qualities. Praise is powerful.
